



Complete ResultsNorthampton, Mass. -- September 8, 2012 -- Gabby Gaudreault of Springfield College placed 18th as an individual at the Smith Women's Cross-Country Invitational this afternoon, helping her squad to a sixth-place team finish.
A junior from Leominster, Mass., Gaudreault ran a time of 21:07.15.
Behind her from an SC point of view were freshman Abby Wright (Pittsfield, Mass.) in 21:29.46 in 26th, sophomore Sarah Knop (Eastham, Mass.) in 21:36.40 in 30th, junior Erica Fisher Chicopee, Mass.) in 22:14.96 in 44th, and senior Katie Burns (Billerica, Mass.) in 22:37.77 in 54th.
From a team perspective, Wellesley placed first with 54 points, followed by Smith with 55 points, Coast Guard (80), WPI (96), Mount Holyoke (115), Springfield (153), Clark (188), Colby-Sawyer (252), Western New England (320), Elms (345), Babson (350), Bay Path (393), and St. Joseph University (423).
Next Saturday, the Pride will race at Dartmouth, Mass. in the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.
Jim Pennington enters his 28th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2011-2012. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
