Joe Harasymiak: Football

Joe Harasymiak has been selected Springfield College's Male Maroon Club Athlete of the Week (Nov. 12) after he led the Pride's defensive en route to Springfield winning it's season finale against Norwich, 54-42, on Saturday.

In an offensive shootout, Harasymiak continued to make plays as he has he entire stay at Springfield. In his final home game of his career at Stagg Field, the quad-captain and cornerback recorded a pair of interceptions.

With his two picks, the Waldwick, N.J., tied the Springfield College career record for interceptions with 17. The mark was previously set by Keith Sweeney (1991-1993).

Harasymiak’s second interception of the contest, his record-tying pick, came with all of 5:39 left in his career. With Norwich driving down the field late, Harasymiak thwarted the Cadets drive as he picked off a pass headed towards the endzone and landed out of bounds at the one-yard line. He also added a pair of tackles and two pass breakups in the game.

For the year, Harasymiak registered 25 tackles, five interceptions, and four pass breakups.
