The No. 15-ranked Springfield College field hockey team netted four first half goals en route to a 4-2 victory over Ithaca on Saturday afternoon. Jane Kelleher (Chatham, Mass.) tallied a pair of goals, including her fourth game-winning tally of the season to pace the Pride attack. The win moves the Pride to 4-0 on the season while the Bombers drop to 0-2.
Brittany Veazie (Dexter, Maine) put Springfield on the board first after she finished a feed from Eileen Jenkins (Gorham, Maine). Jenkins would then go on to find the back of the cage on her own unassisted tally. Kelleher wrapped up the scoring for the Pride in the first half as she tallied a pair of goals. Her first mark was assisted by Jenkins, and Veazie assisted on Kelleher's second tally.
Mia Muzio and Meg Malone scored for the Bombers in the second half.
Emma Kaplan (Ridgefield, Conn.) played the first 35 minutes of the game and recorded a pair of saves for Springfield. Julia Kincade (Durham, N.H.) played in the cage in the second stanza and registered seven saves.
The Pride return to action when it hosts Middlebury on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Stagg Field (formerly known as Benedum Field).
