



SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- (September 11, 2007) -- The Wesleyan University women's tennis team upped its record to 2-0 by defeating Springfield College, 8-1, this afternoon in Middletown, Conn. Rain forced the match indoors.
With the loss, Springfield falls to 0-2.
Here are the results from today's match. Springfield's lone victory came at No. 1 doubles as junior Melissa Weinstein (Allentown, Pa.) and freshman Amy Shaw (Walpole, Mass.) combined for an 8-6 win.
On Saturday (Sept. 15), Springfield will play a NEWMAC conference match-up at Wheaton College at 1 pm.

Toby Coffin G’01, enters his third year as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College. Coffin, who has coached at numerous high schools in the area, will look to build a program which will contend for a conference crown.
