Kayla Thibeault: Women's Soccer

Kayla Thibeault was chosen as the Maroon Club Athlete of the Week as she has led the women’s soccer team to a 5-1 record thus far in the 2007 campaign. The Pride is off to its best start since 2001 and Thibeault has been a major reason why.

A native of Lebanon, Connecticut, Thibeault led the way in Springfield’s 1-0 win over RPI on Saturday. Her goal with just under 15 minutes remaining in regulation provided the only scoring the Pride would need as it improved to 5-1 on the season.

For the year, the junior defender has notched a goal and an two assists and has started in all six contests.

Last season, Thibeault racked up the honors as she was named to the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) All-New England Second Team, the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference First Team, the D3kicks.com All-New England First Team, and the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA)/adidas NCAA Division III All-New England Region Second Team.
