



Springfield, Mass. -- November 29, 2010 -- Led by John Archambeau, a total of 10 wrestlers on the Springfield College squad have been ranked among the top eight of each individual weight class in this week's New England Wrestling Association rankings. A senior, Archambeau is listed No. 1 in the 165-pound weight class.
A native of Ludlow, Mass., Archambeau recently won the championship of the Doug Parker Invitational held here at Springfield College. There were 11 NEWA teams represented at that tournament. Archambeau was the highest-ranked wrestler from Springfield College.As a result of that tournament, Springfield College, as a team, is now ranked No. 1 in New England Division III.
Springfield College is the only school to be represented in all 10 weight classes in the latest individual NEWA poll.
There were two SC grapplers ranked as high as No. 3 in their respective weight classes. They were 141-pound sophomore Joe Grippi ((Bedford Hills, N.Y.) and 174-pound senior Brandon Sundwall (Guilford, Conn.).
Three members of the Pride were ranked fourth in the listings. They were 125-pound freshman Dru Thomas (Howell, N.J.), 133-pound senior Eddie Giron (Bethpage, N.Y.), and 184-pound sophomore Nicholas Camera (North Massapequa, N.Y.).
Four others were ranked fifth in their weight classes. They were 149-pound senior Steve Flathers (Stratford, Conn.), 149-pound junior Ryan McGilvray (Manalapan, N.J.), 197-pound sophomore Jeremy Burns (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.), and senior heavyweight Ron Fusco (Billerica, Mass.).

Jason Holder will enter his second season as head wrestling coach in 2012. Holder had a standout first season at the helm of the Pride, leading Springfield to the NEWA Duals Championship and taking three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.
