Springfield, Mass. - February 1, 2011 - Due to another major snow storm in the area, several Springfield College athletic events have been postponed. Most recently, both the men's and women's basketball games that were scheduled for Wednesday, February 2 have been postponed until Thursday, February 3. In addition, the wrestling team's meet was pushed back one day from Wednesday, February 2 to Thursday, February 3, while the men's volleyball match at Harvard, scheduled for Tuesday, has been delayed until February 14.Please check the Springfield College Sports Hotline at (413) 748-3987 for any further schedule changes.
The men's basketball team will head to Coast Guard on Thursday now for a game that will tip at 7:00 pm, instead of 5:30 pm, as it was originally scheduled. The women's basketball team will play at WPI at its original 7:00 pm tipoff on Thursday.
Entering her 23rd season as head coach in 2013-14, Naomi Graves has directed her squads to an impressive 323-260 record (.554 winning percentage) since joining the Division III ranks in 1995. Graves has led the Pride to 12 post-season bids in the past 17 years, including five berths in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
