Women's Cross Country Competes In New England Championships

Westfield, Mass. - October 7, 2012 –The Springfield College women’s cross country team finished 31st out of 37 competing teams at the New England Championships on Sunday. The Pride finished the 5,000 meter course with 895 total points.

Boston College was able to win the event with a low score of 45 total points and two of the top three finishers overall.

Gabriella Gaudreault was the top finisher for Springfield as she came in 121st after finishing with a time of 19:10.53.

Sarah Knop was the second finisher for SC as she finished with a time of 19:46.85, good for 171st out of the 251 total runners.

Erica Fisher crossed in at 180th overall for the Pride with a time of 19:58.59. Samantha Pomroy finished next for the Pride, as she clocked in at 20:31.24, good for 211th overall. Abby Wright rounded out the top five finishers for the Springfield team as she placed 212th overall. Wright finished with a time of 20:31.83.

The women’s cross country team will be back in action next weekend, as they travel to New London, Conn. to compete in the Connecticut College Invitational.
