Baseball Downs MCLA, 11-2
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 11, 2005 – Springfield College junior right-fielder
James Miner (Metheun, Mass.) went 3-for-4 with five RBI leading the Pride past MCLA, 11-2, in baseball action played on Zavattaro Field.
SC junior shortstop
Steve Hunt (West Hartford, Conn.) ripped a two run single in the fourth inning to put the Pride up 7-0. Junior third basemen
Derek Yvon (East Longmeadow, Mass.) also contributed towards the offense, going 3-for-6 with a RBI.
Pride senior
Brian Royal (Orange, Mass.) pitched six innings of four hit ball, while striking out four. Junior
Rob Smaldone (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) pitched three innings of relief allowing a run.
The Pride (8-11) play host to conference rival WPI on Tuesday (April 12) at Berry-Allen Field with a starting time of 3:30 pm.
