Men's Tennis Falls Short, 4-3, To Green Mountain
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 5, 2005 - Springfield College junior
Justin Freitas (East Providence, R.I) and freshman
Joe Lisi (Southbridge, Mass.) won at # 2 doubles, 8-5, but Green Mountain College outlasted the Pride, 4-3, in men’s tennis action this afternoon at Appleton Courts.
Freitas was the Pride’s only double winner on the day and came away with a #2 singles victory at 7-6, 1-6, and 6-2. In #3 doubles action, the Pride received strong performances by senior
Tim Losee (Berlin, N.H.) and junior
Alex Kosicki (Brooklyn, N.Y.) who were victorious at 8-3.
For the Eagles, sophomore Nicolas Bourges (Salta, Argentina) won at #1 singles at 6-3, 6-0.
The Pride falls to 1-3, while the Eagles improve to 4-6.
