



Springfield, Mass. - April 12, 2010 - Erika Marks was honored as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conferecne (NEWMAC) Women's Track Athlete of the Week after a great showing at the Coast Guard Tri-Meet on Saturday afternoon.Marks helped lead Springfield to winning the tri-meet against WPI and Coast Guard. The East Lyme, Conn. native took first in the 100 in a time of 12.18, and joined teammates Megan Libon, Crystal Davis, and Nikki Hay in winning the 4x100 in 50.09. Marks also teamed up with Lacey Cartier, Joy Jennifer, and Kelly Murphy to win the 4x400 relay in 4:07.96.
Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
