Carlson, an outstanding offensive lineman from Cromwell, Conn., was also named All-New England First Team Division II/III both in 2009 and 2010. A captain of his 2010 SC team, he was named First Team All-Empire 8. He was also named captain of the North Team in the D3 Senior Classic All-Star game played in Salem, Virginia on Friday, Dec. 3, a game which the North won, 26-18. Goodwin, a senior inside linebacker from Foxboro, Mass., was also named to compete for the North team in that same D3 Senior Classic All-Star game. He was SC's leading tackler thoughout the bulk of the season. He finished with 55 solo stops and 43 assists on the year. He also totalled two sacks (13 yards), eight tackles-for-loss (24 yards), four interceptions (70 yards), eight pass break-ups, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick.

SC finished 3-2 in the very competitive Empire 8 Conference, defeating St. John Fisher, Hartwick, and Utica. With nine victories overall on the season, it proved to be just the sixth time in Springfield College history (SC football began in 1890) that SC produced as many as nine or more wins.
