Ithaca Edges Women's Gymnastics, 182.225-181.100

Ericca Castagna Complete Results

Ithaca, N.Y. - January 30, 2010 - Ericca Castagna placed second on the floor exercise and third in the vault, but it was the Ithaca Bombers who were victorious as they edged the visiting Springfield College women's gymnastics team, 182.225-181.100, on Saturday afternoon.

Castagna took second on the floor with a mark of 9.575, while placing third in the vault with a 9.375. Teammate Christina Pagella also had a standout meet for Springfield as she took second on the vault with a 9.400 and tied for third on the floor exercise with a 9.525.

Springfield placed four of the top five on the vault as Jeanna Bradle placed fourth with a 9.300, and Brittany Davis finished fifth with a 9.275.

Bradle also tied for third on the uneven bars with teammate Megan German as each notched scores of 9.025. Freshman Brittany Baglow had Springfield's top showing on the balance beam as she recorded a 9.250, good enough for second place.

The Pride will return to action next on Super Bowl Sunday when it hosts Cortland at 1:00 pm.
