



Springfield, Mass. - March 11, 2009 - Four members of the women's gymnastics team will head to Minnesota next weekend (Mar. 20-21) to compete in the 2009 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championships hosted by Hamline University.All four gymnasts qualified individually last weekend as the Pride finished fifth as a team at the ECAC Championships at Ursinus College.
Ericca Castagna will compete in both the vault and the floor exercise after she finished tied for fifth (9.625) in the vault, and scored a 9.475 as she finished ninth in the floor exercise.
Joining Castagna on the vault will be teammate Jacqueline Mazzola, who finished tied for third on the vault (9.650). Two other members of the Pride earned at-large berths in the floor exercise along with Castagna. Christina Pagella tallied a 9.400 as she tied for 13th, and Kayleigh Davis finished in 18th at the ECAC's with a 9.375.



Cheryl Raymond, who will be entering her 34th year as the women's gymnastics coach and assistant professor of physical education at Springfield College in 2013-2014, is one of the top college coaches in the region. Read more.
