The Pride were led by senior Dom Uguccioni in the weight throw as he threw his 35-pound weight a distance of 54' 4 3/4", a distance that qualified him for the NCAA, ECAC, and New England Championships. He also came in third in the shot put as he threw 45' 1 1/2", which also qualified him for the New England Championships in that event.
On the women's side, the Pride were led by junior Kelsey Bishop who captured the weight throw by tossing her 20-pound weight 47'10". That throw also qualified her for the ECAC, Open New England, and New England Championships. She also came in fourth in the shot put as she threw for a distance of 31' 7 1/4".
In the 55-meter dash for the women, sophomore Nikki Hay took third with a time of 7.67, while on the men's side sophomore Steve Headley took first place with a time of 6.49. Others who finished in the top five for the men were freshman Nickel Hay who took third place with a time of 6.63, and sophomore Matt Amendola who took fifth with a time of 6.70.
In the 200-meter dash, the men had two top five finishers with freshman Tom Brognano and sophomore Brandon Wilbur, who took fourth and fifth with times of 23.95 and 24.04 respectively. The women's top finisher was junior Katie Parente, who finished seventh with a time of 28.40.
The 400-meter dash had one top five finisher for the men. Senior Tim Rehm finished in fourth place with a time of 52.57. Freshman Ethan Occhiboi followed in sixth place with a time of 53.63. For the women senior Jen McBride was the top performer for Springfield with a seventh-place finish with a time of 1:02.51.
Senior Alyssa Brigham led the women in the 1 mile run with a second place overall finish with a time of 5:28.44. Freshman Rachel DiMattia also finished strong with a seventh place finish with a time of 6:18.32.
Junior Chris Ockerbloom led the men in the 500-meter run as he finished second overall with a time of 1:08.75. The women were led by senior Kristyn Meade who finished fourth overall with a time of 1:23.55.
Freshman Lacey Cartier led the pack in the women's 800-meter run as she finished first overall with a time of 2:30.58. The men were led by freshman Collin Plante who finished fourth with a time 2:09.49.
The men were led in the 1000-meter run by junior Eric Nascin who finished in second place with a time of 2:48.35. The women had a strong showing as a trio of freshman took fifth, sixth, and seventh place overall. Amanda Mullen finished placed fifth with a time of 3:25.14, closely followed by teammates Kelly Murray and Tiffany Rozenas who had times of 3:42.72 and 3:43.75, respectively.
In the 4x400 meter relay, the men finished in second place as a team with a time of 3:29.85, while the women's team consisting of sophomores Nicole Reynolds and Catherine Croce and seniors Meade and Jen McBride also finished second with a time of 4:20.65.
The women finished second again as the team of Brigham, Cartier, Jackie Pires, and Mollie Parshley crossed the finish line in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 10:43.36.
In the high jump, junior Lara Dalidowitz and senior Kayla Robertson finished third and fourth for the women, respectively, as they finished with heights of 5' 1/4". The men were led by senior Mike Miller as he finished third with a jump of 6' 1 1/4".
Miller again was the leader for the men in the pole vault as he finished second overall with a height of 13' 6". The women again were led by a trio of freshmen as Jani Springer finished second overall with a height of 8'. She was followed closely behind by Mia Saimeri and Kathryn Schumann who both tied for fourth with a jump of 6' 6". In the long jump, the women had a strong showing as Hay came in third with a distance of 16' 7 1/4", while the men were led by a seventh-place finish by senior Nick DeCelle at 20' 6 1/2".
Hay also finished first overall in the triple jump for the women as she finished with a distance of 35' 6".
The next meet for both the men and women is this Saturday, December 8, when they will travel to Harvard to compete in the Harvard Invitational.
