Women's Cross Country Takes 13th at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

Dartmouth, Mass. - September 15, 2012 - The Springfield College women’s cross country team finished 13th out of 38 competing teams at the UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. The Pride finished the 5,000 meter course with 368 total points.

MIT was able to win the event with 17 total points and five of the top seven finishers overall.

Gabby Gaudreault was the top finisher for Springfield as she finished with a time of 19:21.74, good for 35th out of the 293 total runners.

Abby Wright finished 58th overall for the Pride with a time of 19:51.52. Sarah Knop and Erica Fisher finished 82nd and 83rd, respectively for the Pride. They finished with times of 20:05.98 and 20:06.42 to crack the event’s top 85.

Nora Letendre rounded out the top five finishers for the Springfield team as she finished 135th with a time of 20:48.45.

The women’s cross country team will be back in action next weekend, as they travel to Williamstown, Mass. to compete in the Purple Valley Classic.
