Complete ResultsNew London, Conn. - March 30, 2011 -The Springfield College women’s tennis opened its spring schedule with a tough 9-0 loss against Connecticut College on the South Tennis Courts Wednesday.
The Pride fell to 4-7 with the loss.
Siana Green provided the closest match in singles play after losing 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4. The doubles team of Amy Shaw and Vanessa Senecal lost a tough match at No. 1 doubles, 8-4.
Springfield returns to action on Saturday morning when it travels to take on local-foe Smith College at 9:30 am.
Toby Coffin G’01, enters his second year as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College. Coffin, who has coached at numerous high schools in the area, will look to build a program which will contend for a conference crown.
