Men's Cross Country Places 41st At New England Championship
BOSTON, Mass., Oct. 11, 2003 - Springfield College junior
Patrick Derocco (Utica, N.Y.) finshed 185 our of a field of 317 to lead the Pride to a 41st place finish (1148 points) out of 47 teams at the New England Championship held at Franklin Park in Boston.
Derocco covered the course in 27:09 in field that included the top teams in Divisions I, II, and III in New England.
SC junior
Steve Wilson (West Hartford, Conn.) placed 202nd (27:24) and freshman
Nate McMahan (Millis, Mass.) finished in 249th place (28:03).
Providence College won the event with a score of 40 points.

Bryan Brown will enter his third season as the head men's cross country coach in the fall of 2013. Brown, who was a former All-American at Springfield College in track, is the reigning NEWMAC Coach of the Year after leading Springfield to its second-straight second-place finish at the conference championships a year ago .
