Christine Cotter: Women's Basketball

Christine Cotter has been chosen Springfield College's Female Maroon Club Athlete of the Week (Mar.3) after leading the women's basketball team to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship game.

For the tournament, Cotter averaged 12 points per game while shooting 40% from the field. Cotter played just over 33 minutes per game and recorded six steals and five assists in the tournament.

In the quarterfinal matchup against Wellesley, Cotter was sensational, pouring in a game-high 19 points in the Pride's 67-40 victory. The senior guard shot 7-of-15 to go along with four rebounds and two steals.

The Stoughton, Mass. native recorded nine points in Springfield's upset of the second-seeded Coast Guard Bears, 58-57, in a game where the entire team played well.

In the championship game, a 5-point loss to #1-seeded Wheaton, Cotter netted eight points and registered three assists and three steals, despite injuring a toe in the first half.

Cotter ended her four-year Springfield College career by scoring 1,047 points, good for a 9th-place finish among SC's all-time scorers.
