



Providence, R.I. - April 14, 2010 - The Springfield College men's tennis team cruised past non-conference foe Rhode Island College, 7-2, on Wednesday afternoon at the RIC Tennis Courts. The Pride won five of the six singles matches and a pair of doubles matches as it improved to 4-10 this season.Tim Tunis won at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-1, and teammed with Benjamin Burnap for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles. Springfield's Mike McGee pulled out a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles and then joined John Schrank for an 8-4 win in No. 3 doubles.
Zach O'Leary won at No. 3 singles, Schrank cruised to victory at No. 4, and Jesse Boyd was victorious at No. 5.

Toby Coffin G’01, enters his second year as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College. Coffin, who has coached at numerous high schools in the area, will look to build a program which will contend for a conference crown.
