Springfield, Mass. – November 11, 2008 – Springfield College junior John Plourd was named to the 2008 NEWMAC All-Conference First Team the conference office announced on Tuesday morning. Plourd, a local product from Southampton, Mass. had a solid year for head coach Peter Haley’s squad. Plourd finished tied for the team lead in goals with four on the season and ended the 2008 campaign with a total of nine points.
A constant threat due to his speed, quickness, and intensity, Plourd was one of only two members of the Pride this season to start all 18 games.
