Women's Tennis Extends Winning Streak To Five
NEWPORT, R.I., October 5, 2003--Springfield College freshman
Suzanne Caiati (New Canaan, Conn.) and senior
Jaimee Cameron (Belfast, Maine) both won in singles and doubles to lift the Pride to a 5-4 vctory over Salve Regina University in a non-league women's tennis match on Sunday.
Caiati recorded a 6-2, 6-0 win at #1 singles, and teamed with sophomore
Marisa Giaimo (Garden City, N.Y.) for a 9-7 triumph at #2 doubles. Cameron picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win a #6 singles, and freshman
Megan Kelly (Queensbury, N.Y.) rolled to an 8-2 doubles win at #3. Other winners included junior
Aimee Delenta (Tolland, Conn.), who won at #5 singles play.
On Friday, the Pride cruised past Clark, 9-0, in Worcester.
SC dominated singles play recording straight-set victories in all six flights. In doubles action senior
Melissa Boyington (Vernon, Conn.) and Delenta picked up an 8-2 win at #1. Caiati and Giaimo won 8-1 at #2, and Kelly and Cameron posted an 8-2 win at #3.
