Complete ResultsSpringfield, Mass. -- April 4, 2009 -- Nikki Hay had an outstanding meet, but it just wasn't quite enough as her Springfield College women's track & field team fell one point shy of Middlebury, and finished second in its own Springfield Meet at SC's Blake Track this afternoon under cloudy skies. Middlebury scored 176 points to win it, followed by Springfield (175), Williams (142), Amherst (54), and Stevens Institute of Technology (16).
Hay wound up winning the 100-meter dash (12.34 seconds), the 200 meters (25.84 seconds), the long jump (17-6), and the triple jump (37-5 1/4).
Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
