



Complete ResultsUniversity Park, Pa. -- February 12, 2011 -- The Springfield College College men's gymnastics team fell to Penn State University, the #5-ranked Division I team nationally, on Saturday night by a score of 352.300 to 316.300. The Nittany Lions are perennially the top-ranked team in the East.
SC junior Ty Evans (San Jose, Calif.) proved to be the Pride's top competitor during the evening. He completed the all-around with a score of 81.300.
Event-by-event, Ty finished third in the vault (15.700), fifth in the floor exercise (14.300), tied for sixth in the parallel bars (13.100), seventh in the pommel horse (12.400), eighth in the still rings (13.500), and ninth in the horizontal bar.
Sophomore Jimmy Pezzino (Buffalo, N.Y.) tied for third in the floor exercise (14.500), and tied for fourth in the vault (15.600). Freshman Ryan Ponce (Tolland, Conn.) placed fifth in the rings (14.100), and tied for sixth in the parallel bars (13.100). Freshman Garrett DeSantis (Manalapan, N.J.) took sixth in the horizontal bar (12.800).
Up next, SC will host the New England Championships on Sunday, Feb. 20 in Blake Arena.
