Liz Omura Represents SC at 2002 NCAA Foundation Leadership Conference
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., May 23, 2002- Junior
Liz Omura (Connelly, N.Y.) will represent Springfield College at the 2002 NCAA Foundation Leadership Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., on May 26-30.
Omura will be one of 300 participants to discuss topics that impact intercollegiate athletics and society including: demands on collegiate athletes during the off-season, tolerance and celebration of difference, party behaviors, and trust gaps within intercollegiate athtletics. This year the NCAA received 1,183 nominations for the conference from 296 institutions and Omura was one of the 300 selected.
Omura was a forward on the Pride's nationally ranked field hockey team which finished with a 19-7 record and won the ECAC Division III National Championship. She was fifth on the team with 11 points (five goals, one assist).
