



SPRINGFIELD, Mass., August 8, 2006 - The Springfield College men's cross country program, under the new direction of first-year interim head coach James Larson, has announced that it will host the first annual Harrier-Pride Race on Saturday, September 2nd. The 5k road race, which is proudly sponsored by The Greater Springfield Harriers and Fast Feet, will be held at Forest Park in Springfield, Mass., beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The first annual Harrier-Pride Race is open to anyone willing to participate except for high school students. According to NCAA rules, high school students in grades 9-12 are ineligible to participate. All proceeds from this race will benefit the Springfield College men's cross country program, as the Pride begins its preparations for the upcoming fall 2006 season.

Bryan Brown will enter his second season as the head men's cross country coach in the fall of 2012. Brown, who was a former All-American at Springfield College in track, led Springfield to a second-place finish at the NEWMAC Championships a year ago .
