Field Hockey Shuts Out Keene State, 1-0
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. Sept. 11, 2002 – Springfield College junior back
Maylese Leyva (Harwich, Mass.) scored the Pride’s lone goal as SC defeated Keene State, 1-0 in a non-conference contest.
Leyva scored an unassisted goal, her third of the season, with 10:33 remaining in the second half. Springfield goalie
Lindsey Pardue (Houston, Texas) notched her first shutout of the season stopping nine Keene State shots.
Springfield remains undefeated on the season improving its record to 3-0 while Keene State falls to 1-1. Keene State’s senior goalie Amy Carroll (Brunswick, Maine) made three saves.
