



Springfield, Mass. - November 7, 2012 - Springfield College's Alex Berthiaume received some preseason recognition as he was selected to the D3hoops.com preseason All-America team. The senior guard was one of 25 players recognized and was named to the preseason All-America fourth team.The D3hoops.com preseason All-America team is chosen from previous years' All-American and All-Region nominations.
Last season, in his first year at Springfield after transferring from St. Michael's, Berthiaume was named a D3Hoops.com First Team All-Northeast All-Star. He also was tabbed the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Year after powering Springfield to the NEWMAC Championship game and a 17-10 overall record..
A native of Springfield, Mass., Berthiaume has proven himself as one of the most dynamic offensive weapons in the nation. He led the conference in both total points (519) and points per game (19.2) as he scored at least 20 points in 14 games while reaching the 30-point plateau three times.
Berthiaume also ranked second in the league in steals (43) and third in assists (92). A very durable player for head coach Charlie Brock, he led the league in minutes per game, logging 34.8 minutes of action per contest.

Charlie Brock in 2013-14 will enter his 16th season as the head coach at Springfield College and his 34th season as a head coach overall. Brock’s achievements as a coach are certainly impressive. He has taken three schools to the NCAA Division III Tournament and has an overall, 32-year record of 440-397. Read more.
