Wellesley Bests Women's Tennis, 8-1, In Season Finale

Vanessa Senecal Complete Results

Wellesley, Mass. - October 20, 2012 - Vanessa Senecal picked up a win at No. 6 singles in her final collegiate match, however the Springfield College women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision at Wellesley College in its season finale.

With the win, Wellesley ups its record to 7-2 overall, 6-1 in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference. Springfield, meanwhile, finishes its fall season at 5-5 overall, 2-5 in the NEWMAC.

The Blue opened with three doubles victories.

All singles matches were determined in straight sets.

Certainly, the highlight for the Pride was Senecal's win, 7-5, 6-2, over Elena Bowen. An applied exercise science major, Senecal is a senior from Seekonk, Mass.
