Holt Garners NEWMAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week Honors

Lauren Holt Boston, Mass. - September 23, 2013 - Following a pair of standout performances in league play last week, Lauren Holt (Granby, Conn.) was chosen as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Volleyball Player of the Week.

In her first-ever NEWMAC outing against Coast Guard, Holt totaled 14 kills and three blocks while hitting .346 out of the middle. She followed that up with 12 kills at a .588 clip to go along with three blocks as the Pride cruised past MIT in a rematch of last year's NEWMAC Championship semifinals.

To date, Holt is hitting .411 in her first-year with the Pride and leads the NEWMAC in hitting percentage as Springfield has raced out to a 10-0 record to begin the season.
