



Photo Credit: Lane PelletierCenterville, Mass. - January 29, 2013 - Senior Mike Pelletier was recognized as the ECAC Division III Men's Volleyball Co-Player of the Week following a 4-1 start to the season for the Pride, including a 3-0 showing at the Golden Dome Invitational.
Pelletier shared the award with SUNY New Paltz freshman Christian Smith.
Last year's NCAA Division III National Championship Most Outstanding Player, Pelletier has had a very strong start to his senior campaign. The Burnt Hills, N.Y. native posted a team-best nine kills as the Pride knocked off its first MPSF School since 2007 when it swept Cal Baptist in its season opener. Later that evening, Pelletier tallied eight digs, seven kills, and four blocks in a loss to Concordia-Irvine.
On Friday, he opened up the Golden Dome Invitational with 15 kills at a .700 clip, to go along with seven digs, three blocks, and two aces in a sweep of Cairn. On Saturday, he registered seven kills in 15 errorless attempts vs. 12th-ranked Kean, and closed out the weekend with seven kills, hitting .500, four digs, three aces, and three blocks in a three-game win over host Rutgers-Newark.
For the season, Pelletier is hitting .405 with a team-best 45 kills to go along with 28 digs and 14 blocks.
With eight national championships to his credit, Charlie Sullivan will enter his 16th season as head coach of the men's volleyball team in 2014. In 15 previous years at the helm, Sullivan owns an overall record of 256-158 for a .618 winning percentage. Read more.
