Lauren Pocius Shreveport, La. -– February 25, 2012 -- Jessica Lieblich posted the highest all-around score of the night at 37.750, edging teammate Robyn Price at 37.725 as the Centenary College women's gymnastics team bested Springfield College 190.775 to 180.125 in a showdown in the Gold Dome Saturday night.

Centenary took an early advantage on the vault thanks to a strong showing by Christy Martinez, who recorded 9.75 marks on both attempts. Lieblich posted 9.65 marks on each try. For Springfield, senior Carly Flynn (Franklin, Mass.) placed in a tie for third with a 9.625. Freshman Abby Clark (Holderness, N.H.) tied for sixth at 9.575.

The Ladies had a strong showing on the bars, besting Springfield 47.025-41.350, as Stephanie Wright posted a 9.75 on her second attempt, improving on her 9.65 mark on her first attempt. For SC, freshman Lauren Pocius (Wallingford, Conn.) was sixth in 8.875.

But the Ladies pulled away with a 47.275 mark in the floor exercise thanks to a 9.8 mark by Lieblich. For the Pride, junior Annemarie Graziosa (Eastchester, N.Y.) placed sixth in 9.225.

SC found itself at a disadvantage right away when junior All-American Brittany Baglow (Amherst, Mass.), the Pride's top gymnast, was injured during warm-ups and had to be pulled from the all-round. In fact. Springfield employed only five gymnasts in three of the events on the evening.

Pocius was the only Springfield gymnast to post all-around numbers, finishing behind Centenary’s Lieblich and Price with a score of 36.050.
