Men’s Soccer Ties Coast Guard, 1-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Sept. 28, 2002 – Springfield College junior Kevin Caster (Wilbraham, Mass.) scored an unassisted goal in the 38th minute to lead the Pride to a 1-1 tie with Coast Guard in its New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener this afternoon at Brock-Affleck Field.

The goal was Caster’s second this fall. SC’s goes to 4-4-1 (0-0-1 NEWMAC) this season.

Coast Guard junior Robert Herrara (Mobile, Ala.) opened the scoring in 24th minute to give the Bears an early 1-0 lead. Coast Guard’s record moves to 2-2-2 (0-0-1 NEWMAC).
