BRISTOL, R.I., February 23, 2003 - Springfield College senior
Keith Poloskey (Middle Island, N.Y.) captured the 141-pound championship and was named the meet's outstanding wrestler as the Pride went on to win the New England College Conference Wrestling Association Championship (NECCWA) with a team score of 127 on Sunday at Roger Williams University.
This is Poloskey's third conference championship in his career. SC also received an excellent performance from senior
William Ivatts (Foxboro, Mass.) who finished in second place in the 149-pound championship. Poloskey and Ivatts have earned bids to the NCAA Division III National Championship, which will be held in Ada, Ohio, from Friday, March 7 through Saturday, March 8.
The Pride also received contributions from junior
Mike McWilliams (Newton, N.J.) who finished 4-2 on the day and reached the semi-finals of the 174-pound championship.
SC head coach
Darryl Arroyo, who is in his 13th season, received NECCWA Coach-of-the-Year honors at this weekend's championships.

Jason Holder will enter his second season as head wrestling coach in 2012. Holder had a standout first season at the helm of the Pride, leading Springfield to the NEWA Duals Championship and taking three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.
