Men's Soccer Outlasts Westfield State, 2-1

WESTFIELD, Mass., September 6, 2003- Springfield College senior forward Ryan Lavner (Shrewsbury, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal in double overtime off an assist from Mark Buschini (Fleetwood, England) in the 103rd minute of play as the Pride defeated Westfield State, 2-1.

SC sophomore fullback Justin Pepoli (Ashburnham, Mass.) scored the first goal of the contest in the 33rd minute off a feed from Lavner.

Junior goalkeeper Tom Bowden (Havertown, Pa.) had four saves on the day for the Pride (1-0).

Springfield travels to Keene State on Wednesday, September 10 for a 6:30 p.m. match.
