Gaudreault Paces Women's Cross Country at Keene State Invitational

Keene, N.H. -- September 29, 2012 -- Gabriella Gaudreault led the Springfield College women's cross country team to a third place finish this afternoon at the Keene State Invitational.

A junior from Leominster, Mass., Gaudreault finished sixth among 85 competitors with a time of 19:56, placing first from SC.

As a team, Springfield finished with 71 points. Keene State, the host team, placed first with 24 points. Mount Holyoke finished second with 67 points, followed by Springfield (71), St. Joseph's (Me.) (86), Fitchburg State (145), and New England College (173).

Placing 13th for the Pride was sophomore Sarah Knop (Eastham, Mass.) with a time of 20:27. Behind Knop for SC was junior Erica Fisher (Chicopee, Mass.) in 14th in 20:30.

In 18th place for the Pride was junior Morgan Mrak (Southbury, Conn.) with a time of 20:52. In 20th was freshman Samantha Pomroy (Lebanon, Me.) in 21:09.

Others who placed for Springfield included sophomore Elizabeth Footit (Wilbraham, Mass.) in 22nd at 21:14, and senior Katie Burns (Billerica, Mass.) in 24th at 21:31.

Up next, SC will be at the New England Championships at Westfield next Sunday (Oct. 7).
