No. 4 Wrestling Finishes Runner-Up At Budd Whitehill Division III Duals
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Springfield College senior
Scott Fay (Danbury, Conn.) totaled a 5-0 record to lead the No. 4 Pride to second place out of 16 teams at the Budd Whitehill Division III Duals, hosted by Lycoming College.
The top-seeded Pride (8-1) swept matches from Wisconsin-Whitewater (33-6), Messiah (25-12), No. 18 Ohio Northern (26-6), and No. 8 Lycoming (23-12), before its eight-match win streak was broken in the championship match (22-14) by No. 6 Ithaca.
Fay, the eighth-ranked heavyweight in Division III, improved his record to 26-3 this season. Freshman
Jacob Tyler (Governeur, N.Y.) also went undefeated on the weekend, winning five matches in the 157-pound division for a 15-5 mark this winter.
