New Orleans, La. - November 17, 2009 - Junior Brian Fuller was selected to the 2009 USTFCCCA Division III Cross Country All-New England Region Team after a standout race at the NCAA New England Regionals on November 14 in which he placed eighth overall.The local product from Ludlow, Mass. finished the 8k race at Twin Brooks in Cumberland, Maine in 25:33.5 as he was the lone member of the Springfield squad to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships. The race will take place on Saturday, November 21st at the Highland Hills Golf Course in Highland Hills, Ohio. The race will be hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College.
Earlier this season, Fuller also earned New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference honors after he placed second in the conference race.
Bryan Brown will enter his second season as the head men's cross country coach in the fall of 2012. Brown, who was a former All-American at Springfield College in track, led Springfield to a second-place finish at the NEWMAC Championships a year ago .
