Golf Places 12th at Middlebury's Duke Nelson
MIDDLEBURY, Vt., Sept. 14, 2003 – Springfield College
Tyson Briggs led the Pride with a 160 as SC placed 12th out of 21 teams at the 20th Annual Duke Nelson Invitational.
Briggs, who finished in a tie for 34th place out of 100 golfers, shot a 79 during Saturday’s first round.
Ben Machada finished with a 162 after firing a 76 on Saturday. He finished in a tie for 42nd.
Clarkson (618) won the event, followed by Williams (619), Hamilton (619) and Vermont (621).

Joe Eadie enters his 20th season as the head men's golf coach at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Eadie is the head golf professional at the Fenway Golf Range in nearby East Longmeadow, and is in the process of becoming a PGA Professional. He also lead the Pride to their first NCAA Division III Championship in program history.
