



Complete ResultsBethlehem, Pa. - May 20, 2011 - Kevin Coyle won both the long jump and triple jump to power the Springfield College men's track and field team to a sixth-place finish at the ECAC Division III Championships on Friday afternoon.
The Pride totaled 33 points as they finished sixth out of 58 scoring teams. Bates won the title with 63 points, followed by Williams (44), Ithaca (43.50), Moravian (42), and TCNJ (38).
Having already qualified for the NCAA Championships in the long jump, Coyle took the ECAC crown in the same event with a leap of 7.15 meters. It was his performance in the triple jump that was especially impressive as he automatically qualified for NCAA's with a winning distance of 14.98 meters.
Springfield also got a strong showing from their 4x400 relay team that ran an NCAA Provisional Qualifying standard time of 3:15.39. The squad included Coyle, Kevin Behlmer, Chris Quetant, and Nickel Hay.
In the 200 meter dash, Quetant crossed the finish line in fifth in 22.15, while Parker Ashton-Youngs recorded a toss of 58.27 meters in the javelin to place sixth. By finishing in the top eight of their respective events, these athletes earned All-ECAC honors.

Ken Klatka, just inducted into the Springfield College Athletic Hall of Fame in October, 2011, enters his 37th season as head coach of the men’s track and field program in 2012-2013. He ranks among the nation’s most successful coaches, with an overall record of 442 wins, 144 losses, and two ties for an impressive .753 winning percentage. Under his direction, Kevin Coyle '12 won the 2011 Division III Indoor Long Jump National Championship.
