



Springfield drops to 3-7 with the loss, and has now dropped five in a row, while the Owls improve to 10-3 on the season.
The Pride held a 5-3 lead heading into the top of the eighth before the Owls mounted their rally. Pride hurler Dan Larrow (Pittsfield, Mass.) lasted just 1/3 of an inning as the Owls went on to score four runs in the top of the 8th. Greg Ford delivered a two-RBI single to lead the way for Keene State in the rally.
In the ninth, Keene State tacked on an insurance run after Ford knocked home another run off a single, giving the visitors a three-run cushion.
Springfield struck first in the contest when Ryan Hingston (Windsor, Vt.) singled in Rex Cone (Bristol, Conn.), who had originally reached on an Owl error.
Leading 1-0, the Pride surrendered three runs in the top of the third as the Owls offense manufactured a trio of runs to gain a 3-1 lead. Tyler DiPrato's RBI double was one of four hits for Keene State in the half inning.
The Pride tacked on a run in the fifth after Tim Romeo (Whitesboro, N.Y.), singled in Justin Nussey (Westminster, Mass.), who reached after being hit by a pitch.
Springfield eventually took the lead in the bottom of the sixth after Cone and Casey Federico (Agawam, Mass.) scored on a fielding error by the third baseman. The Pride added another run in the seventh when Drew Michael's (Longmeadow, Mass.) bloop single into shallow right field plated Jamie Mackie (Springfield, Mass.).
Mackie went 2-for-4 from the plate and scored a run to lead the Pride, while White allowed just three runs in seven innings of work as he scattered eight hits.
The Pride returns to action on Thursday afternoon when it travels to take on Westfield State.
