To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must carry a GPA of at least 3.20 (cumulative or last academic year) and meet one of the three criteria: qualify for the NCAA Championships, place in top six at the NCAA qualifier, or win more than 66 percent of matches and wrestle in 50 percent of scheduled dates.
As a team, Springfield ranked 19th overall in the NWCA for GPA, posting a 3.3103.
Foley, a junior Criminal Justice major wrestling at 165 this season finished the year with a remarkable 42-9 record and earned All-America honors after placing sixth at the NCAA Division III Championships last weekend in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Throughout a successful junior season, Foley also held a 3.94 GPA in the classroom.
Case, a senior Health Science major wrestling at 184 this season holds a 3.272 grade point average and finished the year with an overall record of 12-8.
Casper, a senior Physical Education major held a grade point average of 3.23 in the Spring of 2013 and paired it with a GPA of 3.49 in the fall semester to become eligible to receive Scholar All-America status. Casper finished the year with an outstanding 21-3 record.
