Leech and Smolinski Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors Springfield, Mass. - November 8, 2013 - For the second-consecutive year, football's Scott Leech (Lincoln, R.I.) and women's volleyball's Tessa Smolinski (Hebron, Conn.) earned CoSIDA Academic All-District I honors as voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

A senior outside hitter, Smolinski has recorded a perfect 4.00 GPA to date while concentrating on her major of Communication Disorders. Once again anchoring the offensive line, Leech has registered a 3.75 GPA to date while concentrating on his major of Applied Exercise Science.

In order to qualify for CoSIDA All-Academic status, one must be an upper classman and have a GPA of 3.30 or above.

Smolinski has had another sensational season on the court this year in leading the Pride to the top seed in the upcoming New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference Championship this weekend. This year, she has totaled a team-best 325 kills on a .318 hitting percentage to go along with a team-high 280 digs. She has also chipped in 27 service aces and 26 blocks for a Pride team that owns a 23-5 record this year.

Leech is part of an offensive line that is averaging 297 yards per game rushing which currently ranks eighth in the NCAA Division III football rankings. To date, the Pride own a 4-3 record on the gridiron.
