



In the Pride's first meet of the year against a Division III opponent, the Pride cruised past visiting Wheaton College, 158-99, at the Art Linkletter Natatorium.
On the 1-meter board, the Acton, Mass. recorded the third-highest score in the country this year and qualified for nationals with a score of 299.62. Casavant also finished first on the 3-meter board with a score of 261.27.
After being injured last season, Casavant looks to have returned to his form that landed him in the national spotlight earlier in his collegiate career. In his freshman campaign in 2005-06, Casavant finished runner-up to Springfield great Mike Shaw in the three-meter competition (456.80) while taking eighth place on the one-meter board (371.90) to earn a pair of All-America honors as head diving coach Peter Avdoulos was named the national Diving Coach of the Year.
Springfield returns to action when it participates in the ECAC's beginning on Friday, November 30.
