



Bristol, R.I. -- November 8, 2010 -- The Springfield College wrestling team dropped one notch to third in the latest New England Wrestling Association poll following its fifth-place finish at the Ithaca Invitational this past weekend.Williams College remained first with 12 first-place votes and 137 points. Johnson & Wales moved into second place with 123 points and one first-place vote. Springfield rounded out the top three with 115 points and the remaining first-place vote.
In fourth through 10th were Wesleyan with 88 points, Rhode Island College with 84 points, Plymouth State with 65 points, Bridgewater State (0-2) with 57 points, Roger Williams University (1-0) with 53 points, Southern Maine (0-2) with 33 points, and Trinity with six points.
Up next for the Pride is its very own Doug Parker Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 20.

Jason Holder will enter his second season as head wrestling coach in 2012. Holder had a standout first season at the helm of the Pride, leading Springfield to the NEWA Duals Championship and taking three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.
