



Naperville, Ill. - March 8, 2013 - Junior Gabby Gaudreault raced in the 800 meters at the NCAA Division III Women's Track and Field Championships on Friday evening at North Central College.The Leominster, Mass. native ran in the second heat of the prelims, and crossed the finish line with a time of 2:20.60 as she failed to qualify for Saturday's championship race.
In her first-ever trip to the national meet, Gaudreault previously qualified for the NCAA's with a time of 2:13.96 and entered the race seeded 11th among the 15 participants.
Teammate Amanda Martin will compete in the triple jump on Saturday as Springfield's other competitor in the national competition.
Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
