Davis Earns NEWMAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Davis Earns NEWMAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week Babson Park, Mass. -- April 9, 2012 -- Crystal Davis of the Springfield College women's track & field team has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference women's track athlete of the week for her performances over the past weekend in Middlebury, Vt.

In a tri-meet against Middlebury and Bowdoin, in which Springfield finished third with 109 points, Davis, a native of Hartford, Conn., had an outstanding meet. She won both the 100-meter dash in 12.68 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 26.24 seconds.

She also contributed to the 4x400 relay team's winning in 4:07.65, winning by more than seven seconds.

Up next, the SC women will participate in a tri-meet at New London, Conn. this Saturday (Aptril 14) with Coast Guard and WPI.
