Taffe Named NEWMAC Women's Swimming Coach of the Year Babson Park, Mass. - March 5, 2010 - Head swimming coach John Taffe was recognized for leading the Springfield College women's swimming and diving team to it's 10th-straight New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship this week as he was selected as the Women’s Swimming Coach of the Year.

In his 21st season at the helm of the swimming program, Taffe also received NEWMAC Women’s Coach of the Year recognition for four-straight years from 2001 to 2005 and was once again honored in 2008.

Much in part to some terrific performances in the pool and a great deal of depth, the Pride rattled off it's 10th-straight conference championship at Wellesley College as SC amassed 839 points in the three-day event, easily outdistancing runner-up MIT with 694 points.
