Sullivan Named NEWMAC Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Oct. 27, 2003 – Springfield College freshman forward Matt Sullivan is the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Week in men’s soccer, announced today.

Sullivan, a native of Springfield, Mass., and a graduate of Cathedral High, totaled three goals and one assist in a 1-1 week for the Pride. He scored two goals within 17 minutes of each other in a 4-3 loss to Brandeis on Wednesday, and then posted a goal and an assist in a 3-0 victory over NEWMAC-foe Babson on Saturday.

Sullivan is the Pride’s second-leading scorer with eight points (three goals, two assists).

SC (3-9-3, 1-2-2 NEWMAC) hosts Skidmore on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
