Dayton Headed To NCAA Division III Men's Track and Field Championships

John Dayton Springfield, Mass. - May 19, 2013 - Springfield College's John Dayton will compete in the hammer throw at the upcoming NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which will take place next week.

Heading to the national event for the first time in his collegiate career, the junior qualified with a national-qualifying mark of 56.52 meters.

This year's NCAA Championships will take place in La Crosse, Wisconsin from May 23-25.

Ken Klatka Ken Klatka, an associate professor of physical education at Springfield College, will enter his 38th season as head coach, and 44th as a coach overall, of the men’s track and field program in 2013-2014. He ranks among the nation’s most successful coaches, with an overall record of 447 wins, 156 losses, and two ties for an impressive .743 winning percentage.
